CEDA Acquires Chem-Est Industries Ltd. and Radar Vac Ltd
CALGARY, AB – CEDA International Corporation (CEDA) is pleased to announce it has acquired the assets of Chem-Est Industries Ltd. (Chem-Est) and Radar Vac Ltd. (Radar Vac).
Located in Regina and Estevan, Saskatchewan, Chem-Est and Radar Vac deliver industrial cleaning and maintenance services to the pulp and paper, oilfield and petrochemical markets throughout the province of Saskatchewan. Combined, Chem-Est and Radar Vac have more than 70 employees; large components of which are long term employees with many years of experience delivering industrial services. Chem-Est has a long-standing history with CEDA as having been part of its dealer network established in the early 1980’s. Over the years, Chem-Est and Radar Vac have built a solid reputation as a key service provider to the industrial market throughout Saskatchewan.
“The addition of Chem-Est and Radar Vac is very much in line with our vision for growth and greatly enhances our ability to service the needs of our industrial clients throughout Saskatchewan,” explains Bruce Rintoul, President and CEO of CEDA. “With the addition of these two companies, CEDA has significantly strengthened its ability to deliver industrial services and equipment to an area where the demand for industrial maintenance is expanding.”
“We’re looking forward to joining CEDA, this is an excellent opportunity for our employees and clients,” explains Joe Trobert, Principal of Chem-Est. “Our employees will have access to excellent human resource benefits, financial resources and career development opportunities and our clients will gain access to a wider range of services and technology,” adds Trobert.
CEDA was one of the first companies in the world to pioneer the automation of industrial maintenance equipment. These early innovations were launched in Western Canada in the 1980’s and delivered to clients through CEDA and privately owned dealership networks, including Chem-Est and Radar Vac. Acquiring Chem-Est.’s assets will allow CEDA to expand its current service offerings and improve its ability to access, utilize and mobilize industrial equipment efficiently and cost-effectively.
Chem-Est and Radar Vac will form a division under CEDA-Reactor Ltd. Joe Trobert of Chem-Est will assume a Business Development role for the new division while Richard Zieglgansberger and Randy Loustel of Radar will remain as Managers of the Saskatchewan operations. These three key principals will report directly to Dave Whitlock, Vice President, CEDA-Reactor. CEDA completed the necessary due diligence aspects of the acquisitions with the support of its owner, OMERS, one of Canada’s leading pension funds.
